“Wow, I’m truly humbled to have been elected to serve as the President-Elect of Florida Music Education Association on the 75th Anniversary of our great association. I’m overwhelmed by so many of you who have expressed congratulations on this appointment. However, let me acknowledge God for being the spiritual leader in my life. Thank you Dee, Israel and family, (Ella Lee – mom, who I pray is smiling from heaven) for your continuous support. Indeed, to all of the many students I’ve had the opportunity to work with, along with my teachers, and particularly my middle & high school band directors, Ferris and Herbert Rhodes. Of course, the FAMUly mentors Dr. Foster, Dr. White, band staff’s over the years, administration, faculty, staff, students, Graduate school’s, and too many colleagues in the music to name, who have been there with words of encouragement and inspiration. I especially thank the current members of the FAMU band program who continue to make music making special for audiences all over the world. I look forward to working with current FMEA leaders, as we commit to ensure that Music Education, Diversity, and Artistry is a way of life for ALL music students in Florida class rooms.”50138668_1283840195091783_6743694345209118720_n
